Ingredients
- 1 cup Arahar dal
- 1 -Tomato
- 1- Onion
- Sambhar masala
- 2- Brinjal
- Green chilies
- 1- Potato
- Tamrind (EMLI) Pulp
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves
- Cumin seeds
- Mustard seeds
- Dry red chilies
- Red chili powder
- Coriander powder
- Coriander leaves
- Cooking Oil
Method
Step 1
Wash and soak arhar dal for 30 min , heatup pressure cooker add green chilies ,chopped onion ,chopped tomato , potato, chopped Brinjal , drum sticks(optional), red chili powder, coriander powder , turmeric ,dal and salt to taste. Add water and pressure cook for 3 whistle. Now relase the pressure from cooker now add some water if required and mix the sambar. Now boil it on gass add Imli pulp and samber masala.
Step 2
Now it the time to give tadka to sambar. Heatup 2 tsp oil in a pan add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and crakle them add hing ,curry leaves and dry red chili and cooks it for a minute and drain the tadka in to sambar boiling in pressure cooker , Boil it for a min and the Sambar is ready to serve. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
